From Wix contact form to inbox. A test that shows where the notification went

A visitor submits a contact form and sees a thank-you message. The business still needs the notification in a mailbox someone checks. It might be in Spam or it might never have been sent. A traceable test gives you three pieces of evidence to compare: what the visitor saw, what Wix recorded and where the email landed.

A web form sends an envelope to an inbox tray marked with a check.

Give your test a short reference

Open the published form in a private window and choose the language you want to test. Send one test submission with a marker such as FORM-CHECK-01 in the message and note the time and time zone. Use a test address you control, especially when the form sends an automatic reply to the visitor.

Before sending, try an empty required field and an incorrectly formatted email address. Check that each error explains what to fix. After correcting the fields, submit once and record the confirmation. On a phone, check that you can reach Submit with the on-screen keyboard open.

Find the matching submission in Wix

Open the form’s submissions and match the reference and time. If it is missing, confirm that you are viewing the right form and revisit its field validation and submit step. If the record exists, open the automation that sends the notification. Check that it is triggered by that form and that it routes the message to a mailbox your team monitors.

Record the on-page confirmation and the Wix submission as separate checks. This also gives the support team a clear starting point if the problem returns.

Check the mailbox and its classification

In Gmail, search the unique marker with in:anywhere "FORM-CHECK-01" to include Spam. Record the folder and arrival time. Before changing the classification, match the sender and the content to your test. If the sender is unfamiliar, check the message’s original headers for its authentication results.

At NourVerse, Wix recorded our first test and Gmail put the notification in Spam. We moved that verified test message to the inbox. A second submission with its own reference arrived directly in the inbox about five seconds after Wix recorded it. That was the observed result for our mailbox.

Use each result to choose the next check

If the form shows no confirmation and there is no submission record, inspect validation and submission. If Wix has the request and the email is missing, check the trigger and recipient. If Gmail places it in Spam, verify the specific message before correcting its classification and try one more submission with a fresh reference. When you can match the Wix record to an inbox arrival, you have tested the complete route.

Keep a short record with the marker, page, language, on-page result, Wix status, email folder and arrival time. Reuse it after a change to the form or notification recipient.
